About COG thread lift

Changes to the facial contours inevitably occur with age. The elasticity of the tissues decreases and the face loses volume. An excellent solution for treating sagging without surgery is a facelift with absorbable threads. The effect of the intervention is based on the regeneration of the connective tissue. Its effects can last up to 2 years.

How is Fine Thread Contour (FTC) different from other absorbable threads?

This is also a form of absorbable thread treatment but it has a more significant lifting effect thanks to the hook COG threads. Fewer but "stronger" threads are used. The lifting effect is immediately visible after the COG thread lift as the "hooks" on the inserted and positioned threads cling to the tissues and fix the lifting.

Subsequently, the body reacts similarly to traditional absorbable thread treatments. The final effect takes months to develop, making a significant difference even compared to the immediate effect.

Good to know before the treatment

The procedure is a "small operation" that takes about 60 minutes.
It is advised to arrive 15-20 minutes early to allow time to fill in the paperwork.
The procedure is performed under sterile conditions, so it is important to wash your hair and face at home beforehand.
Please arrive without make-up.
It is allowed to take a dose of painkiller (e.g. Cataflam) an hour before the procedure.
You do not need to arrive on an empty stomach but a full stomach is not recommended either.

How is the treatment carried out?

The position of the threads to be inserted is designed in a sitting position.
Lidocaine is injected into the region in front of the ear to anaesthetise.
The face is anaesthetised with a cannula according to the direction of the threads.
The threads are inserted - this can sometimes cause a little soreness but no significant pain.
The insertion points are taped with Steri-Strips, which can be removed the next morning. Water is then allowed on the face and makeup can be applied.

Good to know after the treatment

The local anaesthetic lasts for about 2 hours, during which temporary and partial muscle paralysis may occur.
It is recommended to take an NSAID painkiller (e.g. Cataflam dolo 3x1) for 4-5 days after the procedure.
Dry local cooling can be carried out for 1-2 days.
Antibiotic prophylaxis can be taken based on individual assessment.
It is worth paying attention to increased fluid and vitamin-C intake.
Avoid facial muscle movements (chewing, talking, facial expressions) for a week.
Do not bend down for a week.
Avoid increased physical exertion and sports for two weeks.
Minor skin indentations, unevenness and wrinkles disappear in two weeks.
It is recommended to sleep on an elevated pillow for a few days.
Facial massage is prohibited for 3 months.
It is not recommended to have dental treatments for 2 weeks.
